Countrywide Signs Have become Sold on Recycling

Countrywide Signs, one of the country’s largest national board erecting companies, has signed an agreement with Sold on Recycling Ltd, to give a nationwide collection and recycling service to all estate agents for their For Sale and To Let boards. Countrywide Signs believe this to be a major step forward in addressing environmental issues within the estate agency market.

Tony Williams, M.D. of Countrywide Signs states “all For Sale signs are made from correx plastic, which unfortunately is non bio-degradable, and so they have a life expectancy of 500 + years, and with millions being used each year and 85% of the boards ending up in land fills, it is a problem we must resolve now” he further stated “Countrywide Signs intends to lead the field in environmental ,waste and responsibility to legislation, there is no other board erecting company making such a commitment at present”

Jason McCarthy states “we are extremely happy to be working with Countrywide Signs.  As a national company they can offer our service to all estate agents, this will put estate agents using our scheme in advance of the Governments Waste Strategy, and Duty of Care Legislation. This is a must have service for anyone using For Sale signs.”

Based on the number of boards erected each month, the cost of this service will be, per office, no more than the average cost to produce 1 board. All participating agents will be able to display an environmental compliance certificate, and the use of the recycling logo, to their customers.
